Oh my! This makes my heart very sad. Our American culture places so much emphasis on profitability and more, more, more. When is enough ever enough? It seems nothing is immune to this disease of greed.
This past week when I purchased bananas at the grocery store I noticed that instead of the banana lady on a sticker there was a sticker encouraging me to "See Garfield, the movie." Not content with selling bananas, Dole had to put advertising on the skin of the banana to make more money! Why not put on stickers that say... peace,compassion, kindness, courtesty, helpfulness, etc.? Maybe we need stickers that say, "ENOUGH!"
