I have been a physician since 1984 and have always tried to put the patient first. I am currently applying for employment with the IHS in AZ. For most physicians today, especially those who practice within HMO's, PPO's, and doctors employed by health care systems, the way medicine is practiced is to see (to see, not to take quality time and not properly evaluate) more patients in less time and minimize cost (i.e. to order as little as possible)
Practicing quality medicine involves the heart and soul, getting rid of the ego, and really caring about the patient, family, and community.
