What a great story about a wonderful person! Granny Annie sounds like one of a kind.

One of the best experiences of death I had was being with a family of five daughters. Their mother had slipped into a come and was actively dying. We gathered around the bed and prayed which was what the girls were sure their Mom would want. After we prayed together I asked them to share some stories about their Mom. They proceeded to tell story after hilarious story about their antics and their Mom's responses to them. As they talked I watched their mother. Her breathing became less and less labored. I pointed it out to the daughters and said, "What a great way to die, listening to people tell stories about you and laughing. I bet your Mom is hearing every word of this and is encouraged and glad."

The oldest daughter then recounted a story about her cheerleading days and how her Mom embarassed herby doing the cheers with her. This prompted the girls to begin to tell their Mom how much they loved her and how it was okay for her to let go.

At this the cheerleader daughter started chanting, "We love you now, Go, Mom, Go! Go, Mom, Go! After about ten rounds of this, Mom took one big breath and left us. It was one of the most incredibly moving deaths I have ever been graced to be a part of.
