I listened as I always do to your inspiring byte. I wish you and your family a hearty mazeltov on this special family simcha.
However, I am almost overcome with sadness in what you choose to show your grandaughter on this special ocasion. You take her to the glitz of New York, send her shopping on 5th Avenue and talk about your youth. You should have, without doubt, taken her to Israel. You could have shown her the awe of Jerusalem, taken her to the Kotel, shown her the remarkable history of the Jewish people. She surely would have been inspired by her own precious heritage and would have had a memory of something extrordinary as oposed to shows and shopping. The Jews have more stories than all the ancient Indian tribes of the American mid-West. The Jews have endured after centuries of struggles. Many gave their life so that this great legacy will be passed 'l'dor vador' - from generation to generation.
