Hello, I was wondering if you know anything about what happens to a person whose Veus nerve has been severed. One of my neighbors had surgery a couple of years ago and at that time the vegus nerve was severed causing her to never be able to regulate her blood sugar. As a result, she is now completely disabled & stays primarily at home most of the time. Her family needs to have someone supervise her as they have come home several times to find her passed out on the floor due to low blood sugar. Her life has been completely changed. Of course insurance companies have said that there is no evidence to prove that her symptoms are related to the severing of the vegus nerve so there is no compensation available to her & her family at this time.

I was wondering if you might know what treatments could benefit her as we know that the Vegus nerve cannot be repaired.

Just thought I would try to see if you had any ideas for her. Thanks.

Blessings,

Kathy Meinke
