I read somewhere that the only job of the physician is to make the patient comfortable until he(she) decides to heal themselves. I am on several email prayer lists, and the results posted there seem to bear out the theory that prayer does help heal.I have been doing a lot of reading on the mind/body connection, and it seems how we think and feel has a tremendous impact on how healthy we are. I also heard recently that the healthiest older Americans (from a study of Harvard or Yale students) all had happy childhoods. That all is said to get to this point. I believe that we all create our own reality, thought by thought. Others' good thoughts can also have an effect on your health, if you believe that it helps.

If you have not seen the movie called "What the Bleep Do We Know?" please go see it. It explores the intersection of science and belief in an entertaining and interesting way. All of this fascinates me. Is it possible that we can create world peace just by our thoughts? I think that is where we have to begin.

Kind regards,
Helen
