Dear DR,
Your article is so on for the present. I have noticed in my short life (63 yrs), a trend more and more to pushing Fear. We see it in the magazines and papers, much media, and what passes for "leadership" in our society - politicians. It is less about leadership and more about power. Push Fear, and the people will follow you looking for answers.
I am more and more convinced that those who spread Fear and the elements of danger in life, are really seeking to control others. They do not encourage individuals to seek self empowerment, understanding, or greater self awareness.
What is seriously lacking in the world today is real leadership. People who lead by encouraging others to be greater, more self sufficient, tolerant, and self aware.
Real leadership is more about guidance, not control.
