The fact we overuse the courts it because the parents are so involved with survival and they are not there. If the teacher handles the youth, then the youth threatens court action. We need to give the authority backt to the school with the support and understanding of the parents. I once ran a Boot Camp, and I am about as military as the ultimate liberal, and yet it was one of the most effective programs I operated in over 40 years of service. Every youth when asked what he/she most appreciated stated it was the discipline. The learned self discipline and self control. All of the youth were there on a voluntary agreement, and the consistent discipline is what is needed. The teachers need the authority and support, from the administration, but also from the parents, this is what the schools had "in my days!"
