So many of the people I work with are suffering because they have no meaning and purpose in their life. Your idea, Dr. H, of them paying their extra social security money to give enrichment resources to the next generation, is marvelous. By definition, that gives purpose to older adults. Ideally, our older citizens should be sharing their wisdom with the young, though. It's sad that today we see money as our most valuable resource to pass onto the next generation. What a different world this would be if every struggling young person had their own personal older person to show them the way. That would be more valuable than any amount of money. But at least the sharing of their money is a step in the right direction.
