I am a registered nurse and with much gratitude to my husband and family for supporting me in every way possible, I have quit my job to cultivate the growth of my authentic self and ful fill my higher purpose. I am a caretaker, a giver who has learned to receive, and an eternal optimist. Ethically, I believe the greatest gap in our world today is the short supply of true empathy.I feel that fear of the unknown and lack of knowledge of how to try to stand in the shoes of another and see things from their point of view is one of the obstacles that stagnates and divides the individuals that make up the human race....and this fear and lack of knowlesge and understanding is what leads us to intolerance and thus, to war, both locally and globally.
Additionally, it seems to me, that such a problem lies at the center of our healthcare system. I agree with the thoughts of Dr. Hammerschlag that treating the feelings and the spirit of the patient are what will bring the greatest success. Darin
