My dear Dr. Carl,
Thank you for today's piece of hope. I am touched by your long correspondence with your Canadian pen pal, and your tenderness towards her. I had despaired of finding anyone else who enjoys writing on and sending beautiful notecards in this age of instant e-mail. Put this willingness to take time, along with finding the soul in whoever we contact -- and we really can light the darkness.
