Dear Jheri:
A 93 y.o. woman, post hip surgery, with a tracheotomy, respiratory assistance, and growing decubitus ulcer is not a great combination. Cleaning and non-weight bearing rotation are best for bed sores, but who is going to do it with the attention it requires?
Make noise, demand attention, ensure that she is comfortable and pain free. When you are together, laugh, love and as family be clear about end-of life decisions.

: I would like to know how to clean/a non-abrasive cleaner for my mother in-law who is in the hospital and this bed sore has went to the IV stage and we are told there is not much can be done about it other than some cleaning with these wipes they have and some topical ointment. Well it is getting bigger and the Doctor said if we can do better we need to sign off on the procededure what a crock. first the wound isn't being cleaned properly. cleaning is most important and rotation of patient as well, we can't sped all of o
